MNEA are a collective of artists based across the U.K collaborating remotely to produce their take on Hip Hop in 2023. The acronym for ‘Must Never Eat Alone’ stands for the concept that music can be produced in isolation but if we collaborate the end result will always be a richer experience.
Kansul Culture
Kansul Culture is a concept born in lockdown and created by unknown artist Kansul. Unplugging from modern society where social media followers are currency and algorithms impute value to art, Kansul Culture is the antithesis and the antihero.
As fiercely individual and unique as they are rebellious and creative; Kansul Culture refuse to be pigeonholed. Although Dweller and Kansul are the creative driving force behind the project; guests from the Live from the Groove label camp have been drafted in to contribute and the guest cuts and improvised guitar and brass sections work alongside the beats punched into the MPC to add a live and organic feel throughout.
SimpleSamples
SimpleSamples is the moniker for the creative pairing of Northern rap duo ; Scrabble & Dweller, with Dweller handling all production duties and both artists providing vocals. At times dark and brutal but spiked with leftfield humour, the two seasoned M.C’s work with the casual ease brought about by 20 years of friendship and making music together.
Mazzini
Mazzini is a Hip Hop producer who draws inspiration and influence from the world of television and film. Obesssed by vintage cinema, giving an insane attention to detail when crafting his often complex and meticulous projects. A keen purveyor of the obscure, Flipping from the screen to the MPC; Mazzini builds soundscapes with running themes exploring everything from space travel to the escapades of the New Jersey Mafia.
Conbel Evrence
Conbel Evrence is an eclectic producer and DJ from Worthing, West Sussex. Conbel’s work spans several genres but always maintains a deep,soulful edge. Raised on Golden Era Hip Hop and U.K Garage and with influences as wide ranging as Dilla, Premier, Cookin’ Soul and the Neptunes to Quincy Jones, Terry Lewis, Wookie and Masters at Work, dubby, chopped up vocals are an ever-present hallmark of his signature sound. Since 2020, Conbel has released three Hip Hop influenced albums 'Progress to the Past’, 'Lyrics Anonymous Part 1', 'Relying on Talent’; two house and garage EPs and a range of singles which have received wide spread support from DJ Boba Fatt (First Word Records; Soho Radio); DJ Impact (Flex FM); and DJ Jaffa (Raptz Radio).
Dweller
Dweller is Co-founder of Live from the Groove, a multi-talented musician, MC, DJ and producer with over 20 years experience. Dweller sits at the creative hub of the label and as well as writing and producing his own music, co-produces, mixes and masters all label releases. Dweller cut his teeth playing drums in bands on the Manchester live circuit before falling in love with Hip Hop, picking up a mic and making beats.
